Before being called to the Bar, Michael was a partner in the Corporate & Commercial Department at Adams & Adams for ten years, from age 24. He served as a Law Clerk to Justice Edwin Cameron at the Constitutional Court of South Africa.
Michael also spent a year working in the M&A Department at one of the world’s leading law firms, Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP in New York, during which time he was admitted as an attorney and counselor-at-law in the State of New York.
During his time at Harvard Law School, Michael was Editor of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Africa Policy Journal; Board Member of the Harvard African Law Association and the HLS Rule of Law Society; and a Teaching Fellow in the Faculty of Arts & Science.
Michael's areas of practice include General Corporate & Commercial; Constitutional & Administrative Law; Public Interest Litigation; Labour Law; Mining; Intellectual Property; and Competition Law.
